What is the difference between a USB-A and a USB-C Lightning cable?
A Lightning cable has a Lightning connector at one end. The other end can be either USB-A or USB-C — and that choice determines the maximum charging speed.

Look at your wall charger. If the port is rectangular with rounded edges (USB-A), you need a USB-A to Lightning cable. If the port is small and oval (USB-C), you need a USB-C to Lightning cable for fast charging. If you have both ports, a USB-C to Lightning cable unlocks the faster speed. Since iPhone 12, Apple has shipped iPhones with a USB-C to Lightning cable but no charger.
