We measured the shop
before we drew it.

A new Gibutech is live. Same products, same people, same 3pm cut‑off — on a store built to a written standard, and legible to the assistants that now shop on your behalf.

Most shop redesigns are a change of clothes. This one started with a tape measure.

Before a line of the new Gibutech was written, we measured the store we think does this best at three screen widths and wrote every number down: the width of a column of text, the size of a heading, the exact grey of a caption, the radius on a tile.

Then we built to those numbers and checked the result against them. Where we needed something our benchmark did not have, we composed it from parts we had already measured, and recorded why — so the exceptions are as traceable as the rules.

That is an odd way to run a shop. It matters for one reason: those numbers are what make a page easy to read on a phone, on a bus, in a hurry. We did not want a site that merely looked considered.

Nothing here was signed off on a feeling. Every size, colour and spacing on the page you are reading traces to a row in a workbook, with the source it came from and the date it was taken.

What is actually different

01

You can find things now

Ten categories across the top — earbuds, headphones, speakers, power banks, chargers, car chargers, cables, audio adapters, new and clearance — instead of a menu you had to guess at. Search suggests products as you type, so you rarely need the menu at all.

02

Product pages answer the question

Specifications are structured data, not a paragraph you have to mine. Compatibility is stated. What is in the box is a list. If a cable is 60W and one metre, the page says so where your eye already is.

03

The guides are real guides

Our Tech Tips library was rewritten to answer its question in the first sentence, with the data in a table rather than in an adjective. No guide recommends something we do not stock, every price is checked against the live catalogue, and each one carries its sources.

04

The promises are on the shelf

Dispatch cut-off, delivery threshold, returns window and warranty are stated in plain words while you are still deciding — not discovered at the checkout, which is the wrong moment to learn them.

05

It is built for AI shopping

The store publishes machine-readable instructions and a live commerce endpoint, so an assistant can browse, build a basket and check out for you at the same prices you would get. The section below shows exactly what it reads.

“We are not trying to sell you a logo. We choose products on specification, price them honestly, and tell you what they actually do.”

Built for the assistants that shop for you

The part we think is genuinely early — and the part you can check yourself, in two public files.

More people are starting to shop through an assistant — asking it to find a cable that will not throttle their charge, and to buy it. For that to work, a shop has to be legible to software, not only to eyes.

So Gibutech publishes two things most shops do not: plain instructions for agents, and a machine-readable description of the store that points to a live endpoint an assistant can actually transact against. Both are public.

In practice an assistant can search the catalogue, compare two cables on their real specifications, build a basket and take it to checkout — with the same prices, the same stock and the same delivery promise you would get yourself. No agent pricing, no hidden tier.

We are not claiming this is finished. Agent shopping is new and the standards are still moving. We would rather be set up for it early and adjust than bolt it on in two years.

What has not changed

The people, the warehouse and the 3pm cut-off. The same team packs the same boxes. Order a braided cable at ten to three and it still leaves today. The rebuild was about making the shop easier to use and harder to misread — not about becoming a different company.

Have a look

Start wherever you actually need something. If anything reads wrong, is missing, or simply annoys you, we would rather hear it than not.

Feedback figures are every rating received across Amazon, eBay, TikTok, OnBuy and direct sales, as published on the Gibutech home page and correct at the date above. 2.8 purchases per buyer is 8,557 items divided by 3,057 customers. Dispatch, delivery, returns and warranty terms are as stated on the home page and in our policies. The quotation is from the Gibutech About us page. Type sizes in the specimen and the chart are from the project’s own fidelity record — Tokens and Components (11 September 2026) and Build Gate 4b (18 September 2026).
